VELO 99 TRACK  MEETING, QUIBELL PARK, SCUNTHORPE.

PLEASE NOTE.  Due to a clash with another track meeting we have the track from 9.00 to 12.30.  THE FIRST EVENT WILL START AT 9.30.  It will be impossible to over run as the riders for the second meeting will be wanting to warm up.

ENTRIES.  Please pre enter the even if it is at all possible as this will allow me to sort out the groups, heats for sprints and result sheets for judges. There will not be time to do this on the day. I can cope with a few entries on the line but the less there are the easier it is to run the meeting.

For those of you with little or no track experience please do not be put off or think that this meeting is not for you. The track at Scunthorpe is very easy to ride. It is long, approximately 485 yards. and the bankings are “comfortable”. They are in no way intimidating. If you have not ridden on the track before do come along, I am confident that you will find that it is an excellent form of racing and a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

To those of you who are used to riding on the track please remember that there will be a vast range of experience in any particular race. Please allow more space between riders than may be normal during track racing as the safety of us all is of paramount importance.

To all riders, do not touch your brakes after finishing a race until you are well clear of the finishing straight.

The meeting will be run as an omnium consisting of five events,

Flying 200m

3 lap sprint

Devil

Points

5 – 10 mile (This distance will be set according to group, eg.  Group 1 may want a shorter distance.)
